Soccer Mommy(A "chill but kinda sad" bedroom pop) came into 2018 on fire with this fresh, indie, melodic album with lyrics so fierce the only way to describe them is "animalistic". We adore everything about this album, from its message of cleansing oneself of an unnecessary person causing more anguish than happiness in their life to its mournful, and yet somehow groovy sound.
While, lyrically and rhythmically this album is a 'God Sent', the way Soccer Mommy delivers the lyrics in such a placid and plain-spoken mannerism that it almost feels as if she, Sophie Allison, could be someone you know, and also makes you wonder, "who the hell hurt her?"
This album is a must-hear, must-cry-to, must-tweet-the-lyrics-and-try-not-to-@-someone-to, and any other angsty activities you can think of doing to your new favorite Alternative album.
